2025-2026 Winter Conditioning Starts Monday, November 17.
W-L Crew Winter Conditioning runs from mid-November until the start of the spring season in February and is open to any Arlington 8th-12th grader. This is a general conditioning program with a specific emphasis on rowing—and a key time to build strength, endurance, and technical skills for the spring racing season. Sessions are held five days a week at W-L, and no experience is necessary.
Winter training is optional but highly encouraged. It’s a great way to prepare for the water and get to know your teammates. Of course, participating in another winter sport is also a fantastic way to stay active and build fitness—it doesn’t have to be rowing that keeps you in shape!
Returning Athletes: There will be a team meeting in the W-L cafeteria on Monday, November 17 at 3:30 p.m. followed by a team workout.
Novice Rowers: Your winter conditioning will begin on Monday, December 1 with a team meeting in the W-L Little Theater at 3:30 p.m. followed by a workout.
Winter Training Schedule
Winter training is generally held every weekday after school at W-L. The coaches will share the exact schedule once training gets underway.
Registration
Before winter training, you must complete the WL Athlete Registration.
Looking ahead, Freshman/Novices will need to pass a swim test before going on the water at the start of the spring season. The coaching staff will be organizing swim testing after winter break. Novice athletes should stay tuned for further information.
