With the W-L Crew season just around the corner, the team will be putting the “fun” in “fundraising” over the next several months.

Upcoming Fall/Winter Fundraisers

  • We have several restaurant fundraisers coming up that locals can support. Just visit or order from these establishments on the designated days, mention W-L Crew, and they will donate a portion of that day’s sales to the team. Upcoming dining nights include:
    • November 17 at Old Dominion Pizza Arlington
    • December 9 at Silver Diner Ballston
  • Our holiday See’s Candies sale is underway. From now until December 31, you can order boxed chocolates, candies, and more for direct shipping. They make excellent gifts. Order here to benefit the team. (Athletes, check your email for your direct sales link to share with friends and loved ones.)
  • Visit our table at the W-L High School Holiday Bazaar on December 5. The team will be selling holiday wreaths, See’s Candies, W-L ornaments, and more.
  • Keep us in mind for your spring mulch needs. Our annual Mulch Madness sale will be underway in 2027, with a delivery date in early March. Look out for information early in the New Year!
  • And of course, we welcome your tax-deductible direct donations.
    • Donate electronically through our online payment platform. (Note: When checking out, you will be prompted to add a tip to “keep Zeffy free.” This is a default feature of the platform that you are welcome to skip by entering “Other” and “Zero.” These tips do not go to W-L Crew.)
    • Send a check payable to “W-L Crew Boosters.” Our mailing address is WL Crew Boosters, P.O. Box 50611, Arlington, VA 22205.
    • PayPal or Zelle us a donation to treasurer@w-lcrewboosters.org.
  • Corporate sponsorships are also available. Please contact fundraising@w-lcrewboosters.org to learn more.

Why We Fundraise

With approximately 100 student athletes every season, W-L Crew is an inclusive club sport that is almost entirely self-funded by team member dues, athlete fundraising, and donations. These dollars support our core needs, including:

  • Scholarships and financial assistance for all crew student-athletes who need it, including those participating in the APS Free & Reduced Lunch Program. We never want cost to be a barrier to a student’s participation in this fantastic sport and community.
  • Travel costs for out-of-town regattas including Stotesbury and Nationals. From regatta fees to accommodations, these trips are costly for the Boosters and for families, and donations can help us offset those costs.
  • Coaches’ stipends, boathouse and regatta fees, US Rowing and VASRA membership fees, equipment purchases and maintenance, insurance, and accounting fees. We strive to keep operating expenses low, but the costs are significant and continually rising.

Thank you in advance for your support!
