What are you most looking forward to this season?

Racing at States and seeing where all of our hard work takes us. I want to see the result of all those hours we have put into the sport and the team.

What’s your favorite crew memory?

My favorite crew memory is making the Men’s Jr 8+ Final during Stotesbury in May of 2024. I will never forget that semi-final race and how the adrenaline came rushing in, along with tears and laughs. We had no business being in that final against tougher opponents, but we rowed through it and made it. We turned the page and made everyone talk about W-L. We let them know we were there to race and made our presence very clear in that regatta.

What will you miss most about crew after you graduate?

I will definitely miss the pasta dinners. Even though they may not seem like such a big deal, it was a time and place where my teammates and I could relax—a brief moment when we weren’t as worried about a race, where we could eat and laugh together.

What advice do you have for the novices on the team?

Enjoy every single moment of the season no matter how bad or good it is. At the end of the day, you’re going to look back and laugh. Have fun, but be responsible and respectful towards one another at the same time, especially with other teams when we’re away for regattas. Always listen to criticism and don’t be discouraged. Never give up.

Making Stotes Finals in 2024 and breaking the streak.

What will you miss most about crew after you graduate?

The family aspect of crew, and always having someone to go to. I’ll especially miss the laughter of the boys team.

What advice do you have for the novices on the team?

Find the goals and drive that motivate you and build off of them. And encourage your teammates and have fun getting there at the same time.

What are you most looking forward to this season?

I am most looking forward to seeing all the hard work we have put in over these last few months translate into success on the water. I am also excited to enjoy my last regattas and take time to appreciate everything the sport has offered me.

What’s your favorite crew memory?

My favorite crew memory was last year when the Junior 8 made Stotesbury finals. My freshman year, I had one race at Stotes; sophomore year, I had two. So, being able to end my Stotes career with three races was quite special—something that I will never forget.

What will you miss most about crew after you graduate?

The things I will miss most are all the little moments and the relationships I’ve built through the sport. Whether it’s pasta dinners, rigging boats, or long bus rides, crew has always given me a strong sense of community. The connections I’ve formed with teammates and coaches have been far more meaningful than any race result.

What advice do you have for the novices on the team?

Take a moment to enjoy being outside and appreciate the opportunities that come with crew. Whether it’s the quiet of an early morning row, the feeling of moving fast, or just the simple joy of being on the water, these moments are what make the sport special.
