We are so grateful to this community for your incredible support of the W-L Crew fundraising season. Throughout 2025-2026, the team has been busy raising funds for scholarships, infrastructure improvements, equipment, and a shiny (gently-used) new racing shell named after W-L crew alumna Ellie Cochran.
Our student-athletes delivered 8,800 bags of mulch in early March, and sold more wreaths and chocolates than we can count. These efforts, along with the team’s Friends and Family campaign, have made a huge difference, along with the generous donations of our alumni.
We are always in need of donations, however, and would love your support—especially as we work to build up our scholarship and financial assistance fund. We never want cost to be a barrier to a student’s participation in this fantastic sport, and your tax-deductible donation can help us bring rowing to everyone.

Why We Fundraise
W-L Crew is an inclusive club sport that is almost entirely self-funded by team member dues, athlete fundraising, and donations. These dollars support our core needs, including:
- Scholarships and financial assistance for all crew student-athletes who need it, including those participating in the APS Free & Reduced Lunch Program. We never want cost to be a barrier to a student’s participation in this fantastic sport and community.
- Travel costs for out-of-town regattas including Stotesbury and Nationals. From regatta fees to accommodations, these trips are costly for the Boosters and for families, and donations can help us offset those costs.
- Coaches’ stipends, boathouse and regatta fees, US Rowing and VASRA membership fees, equipment purchases and maintenance, insurance, and accounting fees. We strive to keep operating expenses low, but the costs are significant and continually rising.
